Mackeson, Triple Stout

Look: Black as the deepest sea, with dark brown head

Taste: Sweet roasted malt flavor

Conclusion: This one smelled exactly like it tasted. A nice little stout with a smooth, silky pour. I expected a "triple stout" to be more along the consistency of molasses but not so.

The bottle says it was "blended with lactose sugar". I tasted something a little different so that must have been it. It almost had a whipped flavor to it that carried the light sweetness through the taste. The stout finishes off light with a little bit of bitterness but not much. Like all good dates, this brew satisfies but doesn't linger too long. Mackeson's mommy must have taught her well. The whipped flavoring lends a certain uniqueness to this triple stout that I enjoyed thoroughly.

7 Brews!
