Victory, Hop Devil
Look: Auburn with tan foam head
Taste: Hoppy and bitter with spices
Conclusion: Someone from the mtnbikeriders site, I believe it was Max, referred me to the Victory brews. They're brewed in Pennsylvania and he told me to grab their Golden Monkey. All I could find at the store was the hop devil so I gave it a go.
This brew is separated into different parts. Initially you taste the hoppy bitterness and think, this has GOT to be an IPA. But then, through the middle and end of the drink, you taste the malts and spices. What a great drink this was. It's almost like a hybrid beer. Both IPA and spicy winter ale. My friend and I were enjoying this one so much I forgot to take a picture of it in the glass. Oops! A unique and delicious "ale" that'll definitely intrigue you if you're a hop head. Fantastic!

I used to drink this one all the time when I lived on the east coast! Good one!
Man, I disagree. I had this at a beer festival I went to and it was too sweet for my liking. It drank like maple syrup, thick and sweet. It was as though the brewer was trying to mask the intense hoppy flavors of the beer. Let the hops speak for them selves, I say! Dont sugar coat the beer... litteraly.
