Look: Midnight, smoky oak colored. Off white, creamy, thick head.
Taste: Dark, yet surprisingly smooth. It has a flat, bitter taste with pleasantly light aftertaste. Rich Coffee, nutty flavor.
Conclusion: Guinness is one on the most widely known stouts, and for good reason. OK, I love this beer. Always have, always will. There are just too many good things to like about Guinness.
The flavor is strong, soothing and amazingly refreshing, considering how dark it is. It drinks smooth every time and is easy on the taste buds. Even warm it's still a nice beer to have- that's how good it is. A rarity in the beer world, it's also versatile. Irish Car Bombs and Black & Tans just wouldn't be anything without it.
As for downsides, that word just doesn't belong in the same conversation as Guinness. Alright, I just said it in that sentence, but that's it. There really are no bad things I can say about this beer. I dare you to drink one and not have peace of mind. Impossible? Ya, I say so. An all time favorite that makes my beer hall of fame any day.
And though their old add campaign promoting "Guinness, For Strength" may not have turned out be entirely true, I still tell myself it is. Time to go build some muscles.
