Look: Deep reddish brown, cloudy and opaque. Head is a thick foamy tan color.
Taste: The initial hint from the head almost tastes like a light beer. Then when you hit the ale there is a nutty, fruity, rich but understated sweetness. Finishes off with lots of delicious flavors and a very slight bitterness.
Conclusion: This bottle was a bit steep at $10 but I was pleasantly rewarded. The initial taste from the head gives you a hint of lesser blond beers light a Coors light, however, once you get to the ale taste there is nothing but creamy flavorful goodness. I liked these beer a hell of a lot more than the special reserve only because there was no alcohol burn to it. At 7% alcohol there is still a good kick though. A very complex, aged brew that is definitely worth a splurge if you have the money burning a hole in your pocket. Just a fantastically brewed concoction. I highly recommended it.
8.5 Brews!

CHIMAY!!!!
Sorry.... Had to say it....
Im not a big fan of Belgians, as anyone who reads this blog will know, but this is one of the better Belgian beers I've had. Its not too sweet, has a carmel malt flavor to it, and is quite thick. Well, the thickness I can probably do without, but otherwise, its a prety solid beer.
I would have given it a 7 out of 10. sorry to disagree man.
