10-51: Brother David’s Double Abbey Style Ale

Mission Statement

We started this blog because we are on a mission, a mission to seek out and taste as many beers as we can. I’m not talking about the Coors, and Buttwiper beers you may be accustomed to, I am talking about the rare beers you may have never heard of, the local micro-brew you were afraid to try, the beers from around the world you have never seen before. We want to go forth and taste these brews and give our honest opinion on them. Then, we want those who have also tasted them to leave comments agreeing or disagreeing with us. We want this to be a place where beer drinkers can go discus beer with other knowledgeable beer drinkers. If any of you have tried a beer or micro-brew we have not reviewed, please email us the name and a pic and we'll try it, then give our opinion. You will of course be given credit for "discovering" said beer on the post and we may use your opinion in our post either agreeing or disagreeing with you. Please, go forth and be adventurous. Try new beers and then write us so that we may share in the joy.

Brother David’s Double Abbey Style Ale

Taste: smokey chocolate and malted barley

Conclusion: this beer has a strong initial kick, but it washes away all too easily. It lingers for a bit, but the lingering flavors are not strong at all. It has a semi-citrusy flavor, but the citrus flavors are not overpowering at all.
At 9% alcohol, you will definitely feel its effects, but its not so bad you cant kick back a few.
Its best if served very cold. I thoroughly enjoyed this beer… I enjoyed it a lot!

I give it an 8 out of 10
